FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE First Aid 2000 joins with Work Fitters Tool & SafetyPartnership offers Northern Colorado first Safety-Only StorefrontJanuary 5th, 2009 -- For the first time in twenty years, Work Fitters Tool & Safety (previously A-Z Rental, Sales & Service, Inc.) had no tools or contractor supplies at it's store in Fort Collins. Instead visitors to 1554 Riverside Ave, were greeted by a newly designed showroom highlighting Fall Protection equipment, Safety Glasses, Chemical Gloves, Earplugs, Respirators and a whole lot of other items for sale, all of which are in some way designed to help keep worker's safe at their jobs. The new partnership, called A-Z Safety Supply takes the advantage of 14 years of growing Safety knowledge and Inventory formerly marketed under the name Work Fitters Tool & Safety and combines it with the extensive First Aid supplies of First Aid 2000 to form the first store in Northern Colorado to focus exclusively on safety. In a way, this powerful combination, is just the final step in a natural progression of events at Work Fitters Tool & Safety that started back in 1994 with the hiring of Joe Ricciardi as Sales Manager. The next year, Mr. Ricciardi was instrumental in directing the purchase of a small safety store called Front Range Safety which brought the organization into the fire extinguisher service business as well as the first aid business. Then in 1997, Work Fitters was awarded a plaque from Mine Safety and Health Appliances in Pittsburgh, PA for growing their safety purchases from that one vendor to $1,000,000 in a single year. A good portion of those purchases came from a $425,000 sale of safety equipment that year to a governmental entity overseeing the disposition of Mustard Gas at the a facility in Southern Colorado. The next year, 1998, Mr. Ricciardi purchased the sales portion of the business from the former owner of A-Z Rental, Sales and Service and started doing business as Work Fitters Tool & Safety, putting to rest the name A-Z Safety Supply for 10 years until just this week. "With the glut of tool and contractor supply businesses in the Fort Collins, Loveland, Greeley area competing for a shrinking dollar, it was time for us to pick a focus that would allow us to specialize and serve the marketplace for years to come. For years now our edge has been safety. In a way we're just openly acknowledging it. Mr. Ricciardi's other safety related business, Advanced Fire & Hydro Services, which was taken out of Work Fitters Tool & Safety in April 2007, grew almost 30% in 2008 over previous year revenues adding one full-time employee. This past week, Advanced Fire was awarded the Fire Extinguisher service contract at Colorado State University for the 3rd time in a row. Advanced Fire or Work Fitters Tool & Safety has been the Fire Extinguisher contractor at CSU continually since 1998. For More Information Contact: |
